USFP Furthers its Mission to Enrich the Lives of U.S. Veterans through Involvement with Veterans Community Project

VA Developer’s Donation Helps Build “Tiny Homes” for Homeless Veterans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 7, 2018) – US Federal Properties (USFP) recently contributed to the important mission of the Veterans Community Project by donating to fund a pilot program to construct 50 “tiny homes” for Kansas City’s homeless veterans. USFP is a real estate firm specializing in the development and financing of properties primarily leased to the U.S. federal government — including the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Known as Veterans Village, the project near 89th Street and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Mo., will eventually include 50 tiny homes — each approximately 240 square feet in size — that serve as transitional housing, along with offering services, including discharge upgrades, financial counseling and physical and mental health services. USFP is one of several area businesses and individuals supporting Veterans Community Project.

“Through our work with the VA, we are proud to be involved in developing buildings that offer enhanced facilities and services to our nation’s veterans,” said USFP Principal, Dan Carr. “Extending our mission by helping to make a difference in the lives of homeless veterans through the Veterans Village is really special for us. We wholeheartedly support the men and women who serve our country and it is a privilege for us to help Veterans Community Project with its efforts to build this special community of tiny homes and onsite services that provide housing stability and address the underlying cause of veteran homelessness.”
